Alas there was no cake at our April meeting (Ivy was too busy finishing her new costume) but with the doors flung wide and Ivy and Ginger in place they took to welcoming one and all to the second meeting of the NWBS.

Everyone seated, drinks firmly in hand, Ginger welcomed everyone to the meeting and introduced Katy Kamikaze to all.

Our April meeting got off to a great start with Katy giving a thorough and informative talk about burlesque costuming, as well as hints, tips and the showing of many a sparkly thing to all who were present. The floor was opened up to questions and after given every answer possible we all gave a huge thanks and round of applause to Katy for taking the time to come to speak to us. She was an absolute star and we do hope that she’ll join us again in the future.

After a drinks and natter break, it was time for Lolita Laytex to take to the floor with her rather naughty “Lolita Finds Her Fetish” routine, followed by Ivy’s “The Making of Poison Ivy” a whirl of bumps and grinds and many a laugh.

Thanks to all who came and special thanks to Katy for giving us her time for free.

The mouth-watering scent of Ivy's freshly baked cupcakes greeted the guests at our first meeting. Once everyone had arrived and were settled and nametagged, Ivy Wilde welcomed all to the meeting and gave a quick run down on what to expect.

After a short break for drinks (and a bit of gossip) Ginger La Rouge and Glorian Gray compared the Big Burlesque Quiz - 3 teams battling it out for the impressive range of prizes up for grabs, including stockings, cake and custom made pasties (and a cape!)!  All the teams did marvellously but Team Tassel stole the show with a very impressive 10/10!

After a bit of time to natter, drink, and snaffle more cupcakes, the first of our three acts took to the stage for her debut performance.

Lilybet Grey performed a charming parasol act, followed by Crystal Cupcake dazzling us all with a beautifully graceful fan dance. Finally, Ginger La Rouge gave us a special debut of her Sonic the Hedgehog act, which went down a treat with the audience, bra removal and hooping? This girl’s got skill!

Each performer was met with a rapturous applause from everyone present, it was a lovely atmosphere; stories were shared, drinks were drunk and new friends made.

We were so pleased to see both a lot of familiar faces, as well as a lot of new ones and we hope to see you next month.
